Preliminary Task
This is my AS Preliminary Blog
My preliminary task is filming and editing a character opening a door, crossing a room and sitting down in a chair opposite another character- they exchange a couple of lines of dialogue. this scene should include three shots match on action, shot/reverse shot and 180 degree rule.
Match and Action
-is an editing technique which one shot cuts to another portraying the action of the subject in the first shot.
For Example in The Big Bang Theory when one character is knocking on the door and you see them from behind knocking. when the door is opened you see the character from the front as the camera is on the other side on the door.
Shot Reverse Shot
-is an editing technique used in conversation or simply characters looking at each other or objects.
For Example in friends during an argument between Phoebe and Ross we have a mid shot of ross then mid shot of phoebe then back to a mid shot of ross (1.03s)
180 Degree Rule
-is a filming guideline that participants in a scene should have the same left-right relationship to each other, with filming only taking place within the 180 degree angle in which is maintained in the conversation
